The HITMEN disposed of the Free Agents in the final game of the best of three Summer Playoff finals to take the AIAHL Summer 10 B-league Championship. The game was a high scoring affair that saw the Hitemen win by a 10-5 score.
Strong offensive playmaking by both squads left the goalies with a lot of work to do on the night and the amount of goals was not a relfection on their play. "The goalies were peppered all night long" noted the league commissioner. "And what I also found refreshing was that the Free Agent's and the Hitmen were very complimentary of the officiating and often times even pointed out when the refs perhaps were in error. And sometimes they didn't even yell. Obviously an attempt to provide some creative criticism. How nice!"

The Hitmen's #44 Dave Vogel had a hatrick to go along with 2 assists on the evening to lead the squad. The Hitmen had built up a 7-5 lead going into the third, but momentum seemed to be in the Free Agent's favor after Nick Andrechuck scored with 9 seconds remaining in the second. That would be short lived though when Scott Palfreyman scored for the Hitmen just 18 seconds into the period. The Free Agents never recovered and were not able to scoreafter that and allowed two more against in the third.
So congrats to the HITMEN Champions of the Summer 2010 B-league season. A well deserved honor.
Thanks for all the fine play and comeraderie by the HITMEN, FREE AGENTS, AND BUFFALOES. The AIAHL looks forward to building upon this season's successess as we head into the Fall season.
See you next season!!
